Directors

Mr. William T. Hornaday - CEO and Director

Mr. William Hornaday is a professional engineer with over 40 years of industry experience. He has worked in North America, India, Indonesia and Australia. Mr. Hornaday has extensive experience in all aspects of operations including project management, production, facilities, drilling and business development. He was previously executive Director & Chief Operating Officer for a successful intermediate size international gas and power generating company.

Mr. Chris H. Rudge - Director

Mr. Chris Rudge is currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club. He was also Chairman of the 100th Grey Cup Festival held in Toronto in November of 2012. The Argos won the Grey Cup game that year. Mr. Rudge was Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) from January 10, 2003 until his retirement on April 15, 2010. He also Chaired the Own The Podium (OTP) program through 2009 and 2010, an initiative that led Canada to a record setting 14 Gold Medals at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. He has served as Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University, Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia and sits as Executive in Residence at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management Director Education and Certification Program. Rudge is a former senior executive and member of the Office of the CEO of Quebecor World Inc., which was at the time of his retirement in January 2002, the world’s largest commercial printer with $10 billion in sales, employing 43,000 people at 160 plants in 16 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Rudge is and has been active on a number of boards, including The Paxen Group Inc. (Melbourne, Florida), Merrill Lynch Canada, the Organizing Committee for the 2015 Pan American Games, and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. He is currently Chairman of the Canadian Sport Institute, Ontario.

Mr. Alan Knowles - Director

Mr. Knowles career has been split between the oil and gas and financial services industries. Mr. Knowles has 20 years experience as an oil and gas analyst, most recently from 2000 to 2014 with Haywood Securities Inc. where he covered at various times senior, intermediate and international oil and gas companies. In 2010 Mr. Knowles was awarded the Overall Top Stock Picker Award by Starmine Canada. Prior to working as an analyst he worked in the oil and gas industry for 22 years in various senior financial management positions, latterly as VP Finance and Chief Financial Officer of a junior Canadian producer. Mr. Knowles earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, and holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and has completed the Corporate Directors’ Audit Committee Effectiveness course.

Mr. Glenn Carley - Director

Mr. Glenn Carley is the President of Selinger Capital Inc., a private investment company, for more than the last five (5) years. Mr. Carley currently serves as the Chairman of each of Marquee Energy Ltd. and Painted Pony Petroleum Ltd. and was the Executive Chairman of Galleon Energy until August 2011 and Chairman of Culne Energy Corp. until February 2011. Mr. Carley was the Executive Chairman of Flagship Energy Inc. from 2005 to 2008, Chairman and Chief Executive of New Venture Energy Inc. from 2004 to 2005, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Venture Energy Inc. from 2002 to 2004, and co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magin Energy Inc. from 1995 to 2001. Mr. Carley has an ICD.D. designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree, a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree, all from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Carley is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Law Society of Saskatchewan.

Mr. Scott K. Brandt - Director

Mr. Brandt is currently President of Manta Advisory Corporation, a management consultancy based in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Brandt served as Senior Consultant for Niko from 2013 to 2015, advising Niko on its restructuring strategy and related strategic options. Prior to his Niko assignment, Mr. Brandt was Senior Consultant for ICF International, and held various executive positions in finance with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P Grocery) and United Airlines. Mr. Brandt holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mr. Glen R. Valk - VP Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Valk has 29 years of finance experience with international exploration and production companies in Canada, Indonesia and the United States, including ConocoPhillips, Gulf Indonesia, and Gulf Canada. Mr. Valk is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. Mr. Valk joined Niko as Corporate Treasurer in August 2012 and was appointed to his current position effective January 1, 2013.

Mr. Douglas Cole - Vice President Engineering and Production

Mr. Douglas Cole is a professional engineer with 36 years of experience in North America and internationally. He has extensive experience in exploitation, production, and business development. Mr. Cole has been critical in completing many corporate financings, acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Cole received a B.Sc. (Chemical Engineering) and an MBA degree from the University of Calgary. He was appointed to his current position January 1, 2014

Mr. Larry Fisher - Vice President/Country Manager - India

Mr. Larry Fisher, is a professional engineer with over 36 years experience including 18 years internationally in engineering, operations and management in the petroleum and mining sectors. He has and B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. His international experience has exposed him to many diverse cultures and he has led the international engineering and operating initiatives for a large international oil and gas company.
